Pop-up Birthday Wishes

Standard

I was challenged tonight to create a card inspired by something “sweet” so I created this pop-up tent fold birthday card.

I used assorted cardstock (Stampin Up and American Craft) and patterned paper (Echo Park and Scrap Your Trip).

If you’d like to re-create this card, here’s how:

It’s an 8″x8″ base that is scored at 4″ down the middles and then again on the angles. Then cut 3 pieces of patterned paper at 3.75″ x 3.75″ – one you keep square and the other two you cut on the angle to create the 4 triangles. Finally cut a 3.5″x3.5″ piece of plain cardstock on an angle for your message! I used a small piece of velcro to secure the bottom square of the card but it isn’t necessary.

Happy crafting!

Aloha in your heart

Standard

Today marks 29 years since my sweetheart asked me to marry him. It inspired me to create another digital page from our vow renewal ceremony. This time I played with some mosaic techniques using Artisan 6 software. The words are a Hawaiian Wedding Blessing that we learned during our ceremony. I am very pleased with how the page turned out!

A Day at Epcot – Scrapbook Album

Standard

Spent this weekend participating in a virtual scrapbooking retreat. My friends and I were on zoom from our craft rooms. So happy that I completed an entire album. It was my MIL first trip to Disney. So glad we were able to go last year!

Vow Renewal

Standard

I was playing around with textured shapes and was inspired to create this digital page about our vow renewal in Maui in 2018. After the crazy year we’ve had, I am dreaming of a return trip ❤️

Let Love In …

This evening my friend Judy and I took a “field trip” out to Beer Can Island. It’s located on the northern tip of Longboat Key, Florida. This small patch of white sand beach is popular with boaters but locals can walk to it during low tide. Driftwood and fallen trees dot the shoreline with mangroves behind it. Truly a picturesque spot to watch the sunset!

Wait … We Have To MATCH??

Standard

I had always wanted to have a beach photo shoot so when we booked our family vacation to Hilton Head Island in 2012 I set up a session with a local photographer. My family members don’t love being photographed to begin with, but when I told them I wanted us to MATCH I was met with 10 rolling eyes! Regardless, they sucked it up and dressed in matching attire. They all admitted afterwards that the photos came out great!

Chloe the Coton de Tulear

Standard
Chloe running around in a local park
Chloe catching her breath before taking off again. She loves to run around!

The coton de tulear is a sweet and cuddly small companion dog. They are known to be super smart and have a clownish personality. Chloe is our 8.5 year old pup! She is always smiling and has more energy than most dogs her age. She is quite photogenic so I’m planning on honing my photography skills with her cooperation! Thanks for indulging me!
