Happy Bird-day

Standard

I broke my foot last week and haven’t been up to creating much but have been reflecting on some of my favorite projects and making plans for what I want to work on next once I’ve completely healed.

For now I thought I’d share one of my favorite cards. I used Gemini stamps and die cuts for the bird and sentiment, as well as vellum, paper, and cardstock from Close To My Heart. I used black embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment, black enamel dots for the corners of the vellum and the bird’s eye, and some foam squares to pop up my bird.

As always, thanks for following me on my creative journey!

Pop-up Birthday Wishes

Standard

I was challenged tonight to create a card inspired by something “sweet” so I created this pop-up tent fold birthday card.

I used assorted cardstock (Stampin Up and American Craft) and patterned paper (Echo Park and Scrap Your Trip).

If you’d like to re-create this card, here’s how:

It’s an 8″x8″ base that is scored at 4″ down the middles and then again on the angles. Then cut 3 pieces of patterned paper at 3.75″ x 3.75″ – one you keep square and the other two you cut on the angle to create the 4 triangles. Finally cut a 3.5″x3.5″ piece of plain cardstock on an angle for your message! I used a small piece of velcro to secure the bottom square of the card but it isn’t necessary.

Happy crafting!

Happy (little-bit-late) Birthday Card

Standard

Today’s card is called a triangle fold card. I love sending homemade cards to friends and family but, sometimes, my timing is a bit off! So I decide to make a belated birthday card (might need to make a few more!)

To create this card I used: Close To My Heart Confetti Wishes cardstock, pattern papers ,and embellishment, sentiment from Stampin’ Up Happiest of Birthday’s cling stamp set, Simon Hurley create dye ink pad – triple berry, blue twine for balloon string, Velcro to close the card, and balloons cut using Silhouette Cameo 3.
